Learn More About OurVirtual Claims Inspection Platform

In 2021, Autoflow set out to revolutionize the claims inspection process by developing iDVI, a cutting-edge virtual inspection platform designed to help claims adjusters receive inspection reports faster and at a lower cost compared to traditional physical inspections.

To lead this initiative, Scott Smyer, Autoflow’s Senior Director of Business Development, took on the role of Product Owner, bringing 14 years of experience in Auto Warranty Administration. Before joining Autoflow, Scott held leadership roles at StoneEagle F&I, a premier provider of enterprise software for third-party warranty administrators.

What sets iDVI apart is not just its technology, but the expertise behind it. The Autoflow team brings over 70 years of combined experience as shop owners, service advisors, and technicians in the automotive repair industry. Having been end users themselves, they deeply understand the challenges faced in the inspection process. This hands-on experience enabled them to create an incredibly intuitive and user-friendly platform that streamlines inspections with ease.

Since launching in 2021 with the first client, CNA National, iDVI has rapidly gained adoption across the industry. Today, we proudly serve leading auto warranty administrators such as Endurance, Century Automotive Services, AAGI, and many others. In 2024 alone, iDVI saved clients over $1 million in inspection costs, not including additional savings from reduced towing expenses and fraud prevention.

The powerful combination of warranty administration expertise and deep roots in automotive repair has resulted in a truly game-changing solution—one that bridges the gap between claims adjusters and repair facilities, optimizing the inspection process like never before.

Founder of Autoflow and owner of Golden Rule Autocare Chris Cloutier

Chris Cloutier

Founder & CEO

In 2011, Chris Cloutier and his brother, Patrick—an ASE L1 Master-certified technician—purchased a struggling auto repair shop in Rowlett, Texas, transforming it into Golden Rule Auto Care. Their success led to a second location in Wylie, Texas, in 2017.

With over 25 years as a software developer, including roles at Southwest Airlines and Wyndham International, Chris recognized the need for better shop-to-customer communication. This inspired him to create Autoflow, a visual workflow and customer engagement tool that streamlines updates throughout the repair process.

Chris’s leadership and innovation have been featured in Shop Owner Magazine and Ratchet + Wrench Magazine. He remains active in industry forums, leadership groups, and local networking, while openly sharing his faith as the foundation of his values. Guided by the “golden rule” of treating others as you’d want to be treated, Chris continues to help shop owners embrace technology and improve operations.
