Good Final Quality Control

A QC check performed on every single ticket, not just the big jobs
Confirmation that the inspection was completed and the work order was signed off
Confirmation that all findings were estimated and presented to the client
A physical check of fluids, warning lights, tire pressure, and wheel torque
A clean, presentable vehicle inside and out
A documented road test, including what was found and what was done about it
A digital process that makes patterns and frequency trackable over time
The owner running FQC first to set the standard before handing it off
FQC performed by someone who did not do the work on that vehicle



Bad Final Quality Control:

No consistent check across every ticket
Assuming the technician’s own work is sufficient without a second look
No documentation of the road test, or no road test at all
Paper checklists that get filed away and never reviewed for patterns
Handing FQC off to a team member before a standard has been set
Small issues like grease smudges, missed stickers, or unreset oil life going unnoticed
Treating FQC as optional for routine or smaller jobs
